Beers Of The Beano - Saturday 10 February 2024
One week on and it’s me in the same place to start. Fresh, cloudy with mist over the mountains in Bedwas and sun poking through the clouds in Newport. No Kilts and Bouncers in the John Wallace Linton.
Not a great selection of Cask in the JWL and horror of horror both Ruddles lines were off.
Tiny Rebel still had Scots Rugby Fans, watching the France - Scotland match. Whether they stayed down from the week before, I’m unsure. Oh and the WiFi was down again and also Smarty (ThreeUK) in and around Newport
Starting the day with a rather good Lancaster Blonde
The review
Blonde - Lancaster Brewery - 4.0% ABV. B+ and a bit, much better than the last pour. Malty with a bittersweet body. Lingering bitter finish #ale #beer #bier
3.3/5. A week on and it’s dry with a hint of sun poking through in Newport. Miss the Scots though 🏴
Your Standard Spoons Fallback Beer

Hazy Jane by Brewdog, My go to in Spoons when I have gone through all the Cask Ales or there is a poor selection, which sometimes happens. A very solid brew.
6 Nation Pints at The Pen And Wig, Newport
The review
Loose Head - Mumbles Brewery - 4.9% ABV. B+, it’s 6 Nations time again. Malty, fruity and a little sweet. Big West Wales Brew #ale #beer #bier
3/5. February the time for Rugby 🏉 influenced brews. Sunny but chilly, hoping Spring is just around the corner?
Weissbier from ABK
Only a half as I was running behind schedule (again) and I needed my Chips.
I know, it’s Keg. However, sometimes

3.3/5. Another Tethering Saturday and the amount of red in @tinyrebelnpt is increasing rapidly. Maybe some Rugby 🏉 🏴
