Beers Of The Beano - Saturday 22 March 2025
A double Prelude with the word Beer missing from the first one. The Prelude, Dark Element Brew House and The Malcolm Uphill, all in Caerphilly. Harmonia from Oakham Ales, live tasting.
Starting in The Malcolm Uphill, Caerphilly where they had no Eggs but two Beer Festival Ales. The new Fast, Wetherspoons WiFi is a Game Changer. Starting with all you can drink Coffee and then a Fest Ale.
5.5% for breakfast.
The review
Harmonia - Oakham Ales - 5.5%. B++, a lot going on here. Full bodied, malty, hoppy, fruity, stone fruit with a lingering dry, bitter, fruity finish #ale #beer #bier
3.5/5. With another Fest Ale still on. Thank the Lord for a low Guest Ale turnover Spoons. The Malcolm Uphill, Caerphilly.
Fest Ale No 2
A touch Hazy
The review
Wallaby - Penny Red - 4.6% ABV. B+ and a bit, malty, hoppy, gently fruity with hints of earthiness which continues into the gently bitter finish #ale #beer #bier
3.3/5. Brewed in the UK by Oakham Ales, which is a good thing. Improves if drunk at room / bar temperature. Solid.
Out of Eggs, so a double Classic Burger and a Pint of Killanny Red from Brehon Brewhouse.
More Chips then normal.
On to the Project for some Local Ales and Sours. Testing out the Pocket three as well.
Untappd was consulted.
The beer reviews were all video. 4K no less.
Four Beer reviews from The Project Caerphilly. The first two were from Dark Element, which the Project is part of the Dark Element Brewery. The second two were cans from Yonder in Somerset. Me, burbling on. Always worth a visit.
