Beers Of The Beano - Saturday 24 August 2024
Back in the Mini Beano Game, there months and the next Bank Holiday Weekend from the last Mini Beano. The same location too. However, this time with an added IPA festival. No surprise that it’s raining and also no surprise I start in Spoons. In this case The Posset Cup.
I prepped two CAMRA money off vouchers and by the time I went to the bar, I had already lost one. However, not the largest of selection of Cask Ales. Drinking locale.

Bristol Belle - Hop Union - 5.0% ABV. B+ and a bit, malty with a bitter sweet body and maybe a hint of spice. Fruity bitter finish #ale #beer #bier
3.3/5. Back on the Mini Beanos #mb07. At The Posset Cup, Portishead. As it is a Bank Holiday it’s hammering down.
Moving on to the Port Bar, mostly in the rain.
All Keg but not a bad selection.

Desert Bastard - Portishead Brewing - 5.6% ABV. B+ and a bit. Malty base, hoppy, slightly fruity body. Lingering gently bitter finish #ale #beer #bier
3.3/5. Wandered over to The Port Bar in the rain. The aroma of Coffee and the glass covered cakes are extremely inviting. However, Fine Ales.
And then more but different before moving on to The Siren’s Calling.

Hopper - Portishead Brewery - 5.9% ABV. B+ and a bit, well balanced malty, hoppy, fruity and bitter brew. Enjoyable bitter finish #ale #beer #bier

The sun had come out for my walk to The Siren’s Calling except at the end, when it started to rain again.
All IPAs on the Cask lines. Halves as of course I was already sleepy. Starting with.

Waterfall Dawn - Neptune Brewery - 5.1% ABV. B+ and a bit, hoppy, fruity, a little sweet. Fruity with a gentle bitterness on the finish #ale #beer #bier
3.3/5. Quiet and gentle. Thinking chips and a sausage in batter to stock up with essential nutrients. Beano #mb07

Wooden knife and fork out of view. Quality food but not cheap.

Halo - Ossett Brewery - 4.3% ABV. B+ and a bit, not only hazy but murky. Hoppy and fruity. A gentle fruity, bitter finish. Nice one #ale #beer #bier
3.3/5. Not on Untappd so I had to add it. Sausage in batter and chips. All essential nutrients. Moved on to Security Now with Steve Gibson #grc
