Beers Of The Beano - Saturday 27 July 2024
Back issues and I really needed a sleep in, so it was a post Rhona, Rhona type Saturday. A four can deal from Sainsbury’s in Pontypridd. Sunny, gentle, Fantasy Football and software downloads.
Starting with Tiny Rebel.
The glass needed more cleaning
The review
Scarlet - Tiny Rebel - 5.5% ABV. B+ and a bit. Sour and slightly sweet with a fruity base. Tart with slightly distasteful finish #ale #beer #bier
3.3/5. The finish could be the Amaretto but I really don't know what that tastes like. Pleasant Summer drink and sourness is pleasing.
Then on to Siren Craft Brew
The glass is much cleaner
The review
Reverberate - Siren Craft Brew - 5.7% ABV. B++, huge, foamy long last head. Very Pine forward, then a hint of sweetness and a gentle bitter finish #ale #beer #bier
3.5/5. Very lively, best to let it sit for at least 10 minutes before you open it. Still not raining.
Nice Hazy IPA
20c is fine for Summer
The review
Hop Hut Summer Slam - Tiny Rebel - 5.5% ABV. B++, a little thin, maybe needs Oats but it Piney++. With a very long Piney Bitter finish #ale #beer #bier
3.5/5. Post burger with red onion and plenty of BBQ sauce, it still isn't raining. Turning into a superior Rhona type Saturday.
I miss Tiny Rebel in Central Newport.
I wish they were still independant
The review
11 Session IPA - BBNo - 4.2% ABV. B++ and a touch, light, fruity, tropical and very refreshing. Gentle fruity finish with a hint of sweetness #ale #beer #bier
3.6/5. No longer an independent Brewery but still producing great ales. Sessionable and summery.
And then a classic finish
Still works
