Beers Of The Beano - Sunday 25 August 2024

At 6:00 looking out of my Premier Inn window and it was raining, by 07:15 the sun had come up and Summer was almost back. Still a bit windy though.  Starting Day 02 of mb07 2024 with all you can drink Coffee in The Posset Cup, Portishead.

Look! Blue Sky.

With my lost CAMRA Beer discount voucher and the lack of new Cask Ales at The Posset Cup. It was time to have a look at the fridges. Germany from London was the choice.

The review

Hells - Camden - 4.6% ABV. B+ and a bit, malty and bubblegum on the nose. Malty and fruity body. Dry bitter finish #ale #beer #bier

3.3/5. Helles / Pilsner hybrid and rather pleasant. From the fridge of The Posset Cup, Portishead. Day 02 of mb07.

Moving on to The Port Bar, where I met the Brewer and ended up with Two, Two Thirds and was very happy with that.

The review

Moses Juice - Portishead Brewery - 3.8% ABV. B++, slightly stronger and much better than last time. Malty, hoppy, slightly fruity with a lingering dry bitter finish #ale #beer #bier

3.5/5. Beers are always much better when you get served by the Brewer and this is certainly an improved brew #mb07

Portishead Marina

On the left side of the marina to The Siren’s Calling. The journey back is on the slightly longer left side. Bacause, mostly reasons.

Definitely worth a visit

Day 02 and I’m still on the halves however, no Sausage in Batter and Chips today. Real Ales are foods.

Guten Free

I can’t tell the difference between Guten Free and non Gluten Free Beers.

The review

Hop On - Allendale - 4.7% ABV. B+. A little sweet, piney and resinous. Strange bitter finish #ale #beer #bier

3/5. Back at the Siren’s Calling for the IPA Fest. In all Fests, you win some, you lose some. However IPAs #mb07

The name needs work

The review

Splish Splash - Farm Yard Brew Co - 4.5% ABV. B+ and a bit and a bit. Malty, fruity, tropical and really refreshing. Gentle fruity, bitter finish #ale #beer #bier

The review

Since When Are You An Eagle - Moor Beer / Lost Cause - 6.5% ABV. B++, huge amount going on here. Malty, piney, resinous and tropical. Long dry bitter finish #ale #beer #bier

3.5/5. And so onto Keg and it’s a wonderful Collab. The joy of complexity. The Siren’s Calling, Portishead #mb07

Back to Cask

The review

Session IPA - 360 Brewing - 4.3% ABV. B+, well balanced. Hoppy with a hint of sweetness. Gentle bitter finish #ale #beer #bier

3/5. Another Cask has just come on, this time from Sheffield. My last and IPAs can be anything nowadays #mb07

And with that I was Beanoed Out. Sore feet ahead.
