Beers Of The Beano - Wednesday 02 October 2024

Things I learnt today but should have known. It’s not a Stein but a Mass. Stein is stoneware but not the big dimpled Oktoberfest glass.  Apparently only the Brits use the word Stein for everything German’s drink from.  The term Integrated Public Transport Network is an oxymoron in Wales. Missing my train but one minute.

Costa WiFi working is always a surprise.

5.5% ABV for breakfast should be avoided and so I did.

The review

Wallops Wood - Bowman Ales - 4.0% ABV. B+, malty, bittersweet fruit with a hoppy, bitter finish. #ale #beer #bier

Just a couple minutes away down Westgate Steet.

The outside of the Queens Vaults, Westgate Street, Cardiff

From the people who brought you The Pen and Wig, Newport

The good news here is that they open at 10:00, have some very good Cask and Keg but poor WiFi. Starting with The Tiny Rebels.

Money off because reasons and fully functional WiFi. Wednesday was unlimited Wings day but you had to book. I had no idea. German brew because Oktoberfest.

The inside of BrewDog Cardiff, from one of the booths
