Beers Of The Beano - Tuesday 11 February 2025
The start of nine days of leave, long story. Newport, Costa, The John Wallace Linton and then the 151 bus to Rogerstone. It’s Tiny Rebel’s Birthday week. So, I will be spending the rest of the day there.
The Prelude
Rather good selection of Cask Ale in The John Wallace Linton.
Actually £1.69
The review
Duck’s Folly - Goddards - 5.2% ABV. B+ and a bit, big malty and strong. Hints of spice with a long spicy, bitter finish #ale #beer #bier
3.3/5. Great selection of cask in the John Wallace Linton today. Off to the Tiny Rebel Brewery Bar later. Their Birthday week.
And another unique
Nice
The review
New Forest - Flacks - 4.9% ABV. B+ and a bit, should be quite fruity but I’m getting malty and quite spicy. Spicy fruity finish #ale #beer #bier
3.3/5. A half because I want to be in time for my bus. Just as well as I just finished off the case. Spoons are great in the morning.
Some oddness with the bus time and I was at Tiny Rebel’s Brewery Bar five minutes early.
Grey February
Someone had my normal seat, so I ended up one table further back. Onto the Ales (all Keg)
4.7% ABV.
The review
Ruby Red - Tiny Rebel - 4.7% ABV. B+ and a bit and a touch. Citrus and Grapefruit all the way. Fruity, citrus, bitter finish. Light and refreshing #ale #beer #bier
3.4/5. I know Keg but still a quality brew. Would be much better in the Summer but it’s still bleak mid Winter in the Valleys.
6.5% ABV
The review
Love Parade - Tiny Rebel - 6.5% ABV. B++, hazy, hoppy, stone fruits with hints of spice. Fruity with gentle bitterness in the finish #ale #beer #bier
3.5/5. Not what I’d call a NEIPA but still good. Keg and refreshing. The alcohol is well hidden. Going on me #TinyBirthday
